Born and raised in Omaha, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2014 and volunteered for the Airborne service, where he served six years as a paratrooper. He then pursued two other passions: he married his girlfriend, Alexis, and worked at large national banks for years after discovering a love for the financial industry.

Paul’s experience in the financial world made him a great fit for Retire SMART, where he says he loves his work because “I get to do something meaningful, for good people, on a daily basis.”

Paul and Alexis enjoy the outdoors, often hunting and fishing. Paul also enjoys working on old cars in his garage during his free time on the weekends – as long as the Huskers or Chiefs aren’t playing.

After joining Retire SMART, the former paratrooper took on a new mission for which there is little advance training: he became a father when daughter Makenzie was born in January 2024. We’re glad to have the growing Fergie family as part of our extended Retire SMART family.
